Butterflies

Butterflies are a symbol of transformation and change! Starting life as a caterpillar, they go through a metamorphosis, lying dormant in their cocoon, later emerging as a beautiful creature, the Butterfly! It has become a metaphor for transformation and hope. It is a symbol for rebirth and resurrection. The butterfly is an emblem of the soul and of unsconsious attraction towards light! Our journey with cancer can lead us through a similar metamorphosis. We have our cocoon period when newly diagnosed, but can emerge stronger and more beautiful than before. There’s an old story that the butterfly is the soul of a loved one. According to the legend, to make a wish come true, whisper it to a butterfly and upon its wings it will take it to heaven and grant your wish, for butterflies are the messengers of the Spirit.
